Gods are omnipotent, immortal deities worshipped by various religions and cults al over the world.
Although we don't see any actual gods in Road to El Dorado, evidence of their existence and activities are confirmed with the existence of El Dorado, as well as ancient texts and drawings which the people use to conclude that Miguel and Tulio are the gods that were prophecied to return. The two major deities in El Dorado are two gold men who saw fit to bestow the gold of El Dorado 1,000 years ago.
Another god refererenced was a war god whom Cortes was mistaken for by Tzekal-Kan, with his sacrifice/Year of the Jaguar mania.
- The gods are mentioned by Tzekel-Kan as demanding blood. This is based off the Aztec belief that the gods, the sun deity in particular, required regular human sacrifice in order to survive and protect/benefit humanity.
- The gods are also mentioned as incapable of bleeding. This was how Tzekel-Kan realized that Tulio and Miguel were humans, as Miguel bled from a forehead scratch from the ball game he had just won.
